"Life is not about becoming significant, but discovering your significance."

Have you in a conversation, said something that surprises you? That phrase with such simplicity, articulates what you been wanting to say for weeks, months or years.

Recently, in a lunch conversation with an artisan friend, Chad Markey, I said something that actually felt supernatural.

“Life is not about becoming significant, but discovering your significance.”

Chew on that a little.

There is a dangerous trap in doing things just to be significant. I think that is where burn out and discontent happens. You try to define your identity with what you do rather than who you are. You find comfort in the clarity of your title or role.

However, as you slow down, and pay attention to the Beauty all around you, you will see that many things that are beautiful is beautiful because they simply are who God design them to be.

Flowers are flowers. Birds are birds. Babies are babies. It’s not necessarily what they do but who they are. We have been losing sight of seeing ourselves as unique, beautiful creations that God loves so much.

In that Love, we are significant.

When we bask in the deluge of His Love, our love for people become supernatural. It’s gets easier to love people when you yourselves are experiencing His Love. The overflow of His Love motivates us to move to action. The same Love that doesn’t waver no matter how much or little you do.

So will you start or continue your journey to discover your significance?

The truth is, Artisan Warrior came first. Then God took me on an amazing journey called Story of Yellow. And now, He is bringing more clarity on how these two journeys reconcile and lead me on a fuller understanding of His plans for me. So check out the core values that developed through Story of Yellow.

STORY OF YELLOW IS LOVE

LOVE God. LOVE Humanity.
Love with all of your Heart, Soul and Mind.
Love in supernatural ways.
Love conquers fear.

Keep it SIMPLE
Simple is the essentials. The Core. The Spine.
Simple is full of energy and diversity. Full of creativity and movement.
Simple is taking away the excess that smothers the soul.
Simple is taking one step at a time.
Simple is the essence of me.

Be AUTHENTIC
Living a lie is draining and addictive.
A lie needs other lies to feed it and sustain it.
Truth is pure. It’s lean. No accessories needed.
Truth can stand on its own.
Be true to oneself. Be true to others.

Make it PERSONAL
Personal detachment makes anything meaningless.
Our careers, our marriage, our projects, our art.
It must be you. Don’t waste energy on something that is not.
Make everything a chapter of your story.

Give GENEROUSLY
Meeting expectations is one thing. But to exceed it is divine.
Give out of Love, not obligation or guilt.
Give because you believe in the possibilities.
Give not only your time or money, but your art.

Be RESPONSIVE
Don’t react to situations but respond to the cues.
Respond by speaking up. Respond by being silent.
Response comes from awareness of the present, not lost dreaming of the future.
Response takes courage and discipline.
